isn't it wonderful if you have the time and state of mind to enjoy such a simple yet wonderful sight at the end of a fulfilled day?

dd edit:

(copy/paste from my journal)

phew... one of my pictures was chosen as a daily deviation.

first i would like to thank :iconjanedoe87: very much for suggesting the image and make this experience happen for me :)

but this unexpected exposure puts me in a contrast bath of feelings.

on one side i'm excited to see what everyone has to say how she or he sees the image or what moves them about it...

on the other side i'm not at all in the mood for joy since a very good friend of many years is about to die as i write these lines.
yesterday evening i drove for four hours to the hospital where he lies in intensive care to be with him and hold his hand for a while.
the cancer has now spread to his brain and bones and talking and staying focused is very hard for him.

as the image "a pleasant summers eve" is a visual memory of a summer past i would like to dedicate it to Heinz and remember him as the intelligent, compassionate and witty person he always was.

sorry for raining on my own parade.

edit [04/28/08]:
Heinz has passed away peacefully in the night from the 21st to the 22nd.
Thank you for all the good wishes for him.

98% of Deviants don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." If you're one of the 2% that wants to punch 'em, put this in your sig.
This is beautiful. The bright and nicely blurred background (great DOF) and the dark but crisp grass. Truly wonderful.
